There are few places friendlier, livelier or more beautiful than Ireland, and with 365 days of sunshine a year, it’s the perfect place for suntans. Okay, so that last point might have be stretching it a bit, but the rest is true! Although you’re always likely to have a good time in Ireland, of course there’ll be occasions when you want to see and do other things.
Whether you live in Ireland or are touring the world, there are some great destinations to head for straight from the main Irish airports, and the flight prices are often agreeably low. Here are some of the possibilities:
*Amsterdam: travel to the amazing Dutch city and experience a beautiful canal ride or visit the Van Gogh Museum. There are direct flights from Dublin and Cork.
*Barcelona: incredible architecture, afternoon siestas and tapas bars await you at Barcelona. Ryanair and Aer Lingus both offer direct flights from Dublin airport to this incredible Spanish city.
*London: you can fly direct to the British capital city from most of Ireland’s airports, including Kerry, Shannon, Cork, Dublin or Knock. The cheapest flights usually go from the largest airports, so it’s a good idea to fly from Dublin if it fits your agenda.
*New York: travel to the Big Apple straight from Ireland and enjoy the time of your life. There are direct flights from Dublin and Shannon, though you can save significant money by flying indirect.
*Orlando: if you fancy a visit to Walt Disney World or Universal Studios, Aer Lingus offers a direct flight to Orlando from Dublin airport. The flight time is 9 hours and 45 minutes.
*Paris: fly to the romantic French “City of Light” straight from Dublin airport. Ryanair flies to Beauvais, which is about 50 miles from Paris, but you can also fly to Paris Orly airport using the French airline Transavia.
